Taylor Swift is Ursuline students’ favorite girl crush, case in point, American Airlines Center Sept. 25, 2009. The last time Swift was in Dallas she opened for Rascal Flatts at Superpages.com Center, and now she is headlining her own show at the AAC.
The sold out crowd enjoyed Gloriana, an up and coming country band, and Kellie Pickler, one of Swift’s best friends.
“I really enjoyed all her opening acts. They set the right mood for the concert,” said Courtney S. ’10.
Opening with “You Belong With Me,” Swift came out in a full marching band uniform along with her band members. This was only the beginning of the fun skits Swift executed throughout the show.
Another stunning set was the castle set up for “Love Story.” Dancers came on stage in old Victorian dresses, as did Swift; however, Swift discarded this garb for the famous wedding dress from her music video. Moreover, to close the show Swift performed “Should’ve Said No,” complete with a torrential downpour.
Swift had a lot of crowd interaction throughout the show. Walking through the crowd and performing two songs among her fans, she showed her appreciation for their support.
“She looked genuinely happy to be there, which made me enjoy the show that much more,” said Sarah B. ’10. After performing “Tim McGraw,” Swift received a standing ovation from her fans. In awe of their appreciation, Swift said, “I will remember this moment for the rest of my life!” After receiving the standing ovation and performing “Love Story,” Swift came out in a custom Dallas Mavericks jersey with her lucky number, 13.
Furthermore, Swift thoroughly enjoyed her time in Dallas enough to tweet, “adding this night to the list of unforgettable memories that I have from Dallas.”
Swift is finishing her Fearless tour and will be working on another album coming out in the near future.
