“Gilmore Girls” is returning on Nov. 25, 2016. Yes, that is right. “Gilmore Girls” is coming back for a final season named “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life”. Netflix is planning to make four 90 minute episodes starting with “Winter,” then “Spring,” “Summer,” and ending with “Fall.” The show will pick up eight years after the audience’s last glimpse at Lorelai and Rory sipping coffee in Luke’s Diner. The original producers, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, are running the show yet again and the audience will expect nothing less than perfection for their last hurrah with their favorite small town girls.

Star’s Hollow will be seeing some familiar faces including Lauren Graham as Lorelai, Alexis Bledel as Rory, Scott Patterson as Luke, Kelly Bishop as Emily, Melissa McCarthy as Sookie, Sean Gunn as Kirk, Keiko Agena as Lane, Liza Weil as Paris and Yanic Truesdal as Michel Gerard.

And of course, the producers cannot forget the three intriguing boyfriends Rory had over the original seven seasons. Even in the original series finale, Rory ended up single and ready to begin an exciting new journey as a journalist. In the final season of “Gilmore Girls”, Rory will be bumping into her exes throughout the four episodes. Members of Team Dean, Team Jess or Team Logan better rejoice because Matt Czhuchry will reprise his role as Logan, Jared Padalecki as Dean, and Milo Ventimiglia as Jess.

As for Lorelai’s love life, it has been revealed that Chris, Rory’s dad, and Luke will return. Scott Patterson says, “there are two that are the penultimate Luke and Lorelai scenes. It will be the scenes to end all Luke and Lorelai scenes.” Patterson has also said that that Luke and Lorelai are together.

A very observant “Gilmore Girls” fan would notice that Edward Herman, who played Richard Gilmore, died in 2014 and the new season intends to pay him respects. Sherman-Palladino told TVLine, “It’s painful. I still chock up when I talk about it, because I wasn’t prepared for it.”

The original final season for “Gilmore Girls” has been debated over because the creator’s original vision was not carried into the quality of the season. Sherman-Palladino and her husband Daniel Palladino, were not a part of the seventh season because they had left over contract disputes. Therefore, the episodes that followed were not produced in the same likeness as previous seasons.

Sherman-Palladino also promises to make the girls come back wittier than ever. She actually shared the first page of the script for the first episode with Entertainment Weekly. Lorelai makes fun of Rory for looking too “perfect” when she gets off a plane.

One of the first revivals for the show illustrates that the girls are adapting to the new world of technology. Rory is using an iPhone in the teaser to look up something online. Although, the girls still retain some of their good old habits like reading print newspapers and of course, eating Pop-tarts.

Each of the Gilmore girls will be facing their own set of challenges that life throws at them. Rory is adjusting to life in her mid-thirties and is going through a personal crisis. Emily is still figuring out life as a single woman whose life previously revolved around her spouse; eight years have passed since her husband’s death and she is attempting to adapt to the new world around her. Lorelai is still attempting to figure out what to do with her life. She is still not married and wants to really set down a path for herself.

The new four episodes of “Gilmore Girls” will truly be the conclusion to the story and will hopefully provide a nice closing to fans and cast members alike.
