Ursuline recently welcomed a new member to our administration, Sr. Lois Castillon, to act as interim principal while Ms. Bourgeois continues to recover.

Sr. Lois has been a part of many different Ursuline communities, most recently serving the Ursuline school in St. Louis, MO.  But when Sr. Margaret Ann asked her to consider serving as our interim principal, Sr. Lois accepted.

“This is my gift of serviam,” Sr. Lois said when talking about her new position in Dallas.  “It was a challenge to come in the middle of the year, but after such a warm welcome I felt at home,” she said.

Sr. Lois said that Ursuline of St. Louis and Ursuline of Dallas are relatively similar: “Both are very alike in academic excellence and core values.  Serviam is a very huge part of both schools,” she said.

In addition to St. Angela, Sr. Lois said that her other role model is Nelson Mandela because of his “courage and desire for unity among people,” adding that she especially saw this after seeing the recently released film, Invictus.

Soon upon arrival, Sr. Lois was asked what she thought of the new schedule for next year. “It reflects the need for tutorial work, different groups/clubs will have more meeting time, and another plus is lunches are longer.”

Welcome to Ursuline, Sr. Lois!
