Spirit of Uganda is a talented group of young Ugandan people who will bring to life the dances and music from East Africa and share Ugandan culture with an Ursuline audience on Global Celebration Day January 18.

Spirit of Uganda consists of 22 Ugandan performers ages 8-18 who are on tour in North America from January through May 2012. They will be performing anywhere from Maine to California including places such as Joyce Theater in New York and the Zellerbach Theatre in Philadelphia.   The group previously performed to great accolades at Ursuline two years ago.

According to their website, these talented ambassadors for Uganda’s 2.4 million orphans,“personify the resilience and promise of Africa’s next generation as they promote awareness of Uganda’s dual crises of AIDS and civil war, and raise funds to support themselves and others in their homeland.
