On Pinterest, you can designate several pinboards for different things, such as inspiring quotes, your dream house, fitness, fashion ideas, décor, recipes and more. Anything you “pin”, or post, goes in a certain pinboard.
“I have a pin board for crafts and organization ideas,” said Calla S. ’12, an avid Pinterest user. “I’ve made cute organization helpers for my room.”
Like Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr, you can follow other users and individual pinboards of theirs, like pins, and repin pins.
“It’s really addictive,” Sophie M. ’12 said.
Pinterest has received praise for its organized, aesthetically pleasing layout and user-friendly functions, which have contributed to Pinterest’s success.
Pinterest is also ideal for entrepreneurs, who can post photos of their works in progress and even ask for the input and opinions from Pinterest users.
Even better, Pinterest has a smart phone app. That way, you won’t have to wait until you get home to post a new idea or snap a picture of things you saw while away from the computer.
But the best part about Pinterest, as a type of social networking site, is being part of a community of people who use Pinterest for similar interests—if you like baking, you can easily find, share, and exchange recipes with other baking enthusiasts.
And with such a diverse group of users, posting all kinds of images and quotes, Pinterest is the perfect place to go when in a creative slump.
