The French II classes baked Palmiers, a French pastry, during their class on Oct. 23. The girls are learning about celebrations and the kind of food that invitees can bring, such as pastries. As a way for the students to get hands-on experience and connect to the lesson, the class went to Fox Dining to make the classic pastry. The pastry is a French cookie with a caramel flavor, and is common to bring to French celebrations, or “fêtes,” the title of the French lesson.
With the help of the Sage staff and the Sage kitchen, the girls were able to make the pastries during class. The girls worked with kitchen equipment with the help of the staff, and had fun rolling dough, shaping it, and enjoying the finished product!
