The Beijing delegation from Huaxia Girl’s School, celebrating the two schools’ 20 year relationship, had a lot to say about their time in Texas.
The favorite activity by far—the State Fair. This was the ideal place to experience Texan culture, and eat the girls’ favorite foods of barbecue, ice cream and chocolate.
This group of girls have a lot in common with their American sisters, such as favorite music stars of Taylor Swift and Rihanna, and TV shows Teen Wolf and American Horror Story.
Differences still arised between the two schools, as the girls proclaimed, “yes,” “all” of the school schedule was different. “Only the teacher switches,” explained the Huaxia students. School also starts earlier, at 7:40 a.m.
Before leaving, the girls were excited to share experiences of their home, for example the moon festival they celebrated before leaving. The festival involves bright fireworks and commences with the eating of moon cakes.
The Bear Facts and Ursuline as a whole were so honored and happy to entertain the Huaxia girls on their short visit!
